Paula, Mia, and Vincent

There are six main live-action characters: Mia, Vincent, Paula, Violetta, Mario, and Sara. All six of them find out about Centopia. These six characters are also the only ones from the real world who discover Centopia.

  • Mia is the heroine of the series, an awkward girl who loves animals. She feels a special emotional connection to animals, especially horses. She has two magical items, a book and a bracelet, which can transport her to the elf land of Centopia. In Centopia, she is the only elf who can talk to unicorns.
  • Vincent is Mia's best friend. He is very smart and resourceful, and he likes to build and fix things. He knows a lot about runes, and he teaches Mia how to read the runes in the Centopia book. He is the first person other than Mia to find out about Centopia. He has a secret shack where he and Mia like to hide out.
  • Paula is Mia's roommate at the boarding school. She is a fun-loving and energetic person who loves to talk but can be a bit self-conscious. At first, Paula felt like she didn't fit in at school, so she tried to follow the popular clique and helped them with their nasty pranks. Eventually, Paula befriended Mia and Vincent instead.
  • Violetta is Mia's bully. She is a snobbish, self-centered girl who is always trying to ruin Mia's fun. For most of the first two seasons, Violetta is the villain of the live-action segments. In season two, she journeys to Centopia after finding a piece of Mia's bracelet. She redeems herself and becomes Mia's friend.
  • Mario is a young farmhand who works for Mia's grandpa Renzo. He debuts in season two. Like Mia, he cares deeply for all kinds of animals and does not mind doing dirty chores. Mario rides a motorized bike that he and Mia use to travel around Italy.
  • Sara is a blind girl who shares Mia's love of horses. She debuts in season three, where Sara and her mother let Mia live with them. She has a horse named Pepino. Eventually, Sara travels to Centopia, where she becomes an elf with acute vision.

Adults[]

  • Annie is Mia's aunt who organizes Mia's school situation. In the first episode, she gives Mia the book of Centopia that Mia's parents left for her.
  • Renzo is Mia's grandfather who owns a farm. He is a great cook and takes care of many different farm animals. He is very supportive of Mia's horseback riding, but he sometimes worries about her safety.

  • Vittorio di Nola is Violetta's kind and caring father. He is divorced from the Contessa. Unlike his ex-wife, he cares deeply for Violetta, and he is friends with Mia and Mario.
