Contessa di Nola is Violetta's mother. Along with her daughter, she is a main antagonist of the live-action segments in Season 2. She is a rich Italian countess who owns the land around Renzo's farm.

The Contessa used to be married to Violetta's father, Vittorio, but they got divorced. Since then, the Contessa has gone to great lengths to prevent Violetta from finding out that Vittorio wants to live with Violetta. For example, she told Violetta that her father had no interest in living with her, which made Violetta break down crying because she believed her father didn't love her. The Contessa even burned the gifts that Vittorio sent for Violetta.

Character

The Contessa talks with a thick Italian accent and is usually rude to everyone she meets. She is a good horseback rider and nearly beat Mia in a riding competition. She dislikes Mia's family for being dirty and uncivilized. She is cruel manipulative and toxic to her daughter Violetta.

Relationships

• Violetta - The Contessa forces Violetta to compete in horseback riding competitions, even though Violetta hates them. It is shown that Violetta acts mean to compensate for her mother's cruelty toward her.

• Mia - The Contessa hates Mia and sees her as an annoyance. She once asked Mia to apologize for no reason other than "I just dislike you." In the season 2 finale, she to reproach Mia for her daughter's disappearance in episode 25 she assumes not her skills her actions . the Contessa competes against Mia in the horseback riding competition, and Mia defeats her.

• Renzo - Throughout season 2, the Contessa tries to get Renzo to give up his farm. Renzo refuses each time, explaining that the farm doesn't have much monetary value, but it does have personal value to him and Mia.

• Vittorio di Nola - The Contessa has a bad relationship with her ex-husband Vittorio. Unlike the Contessa, Vittorio is kind, good friends with Mia and Mario, and genuinely loves his daughter Violetta. The Contessa accuses him of kidnapping Violetta and tries to get him arrested, even though she is the one responsible for the situation.
