Where he was not, she was. What he knows not, she does.[1]
Summary[]
Mia takes a practical course in a rural veterinary practice. While treating a sick horse, she impresses veterinarian Dr. Carina Amato by coming up with a good idea.
In Centopia, Mia gets to know that the island has recently been experiencing earthquakes and that the tides have changed strangely. When Mia, Yuko, Mo and Phuddle find a stone panpipe on the beach, they set out to find its origins. They hope the Pan King can read the mystical runes on the flute and solve the mystery of why Centopia is changing. It turns out that the earthquakes are being caused by the movement of various islands in the sea. These head towards the main island and gradually dock there. With the islands come new residents, including those who are up to no good. And so Mia and her elven friends must once again take up the fight against the dark elves and their allies in order to save the elves' homeland.
Events[]
- Mia meets Doctor Amato who has to go straight to Jack's horse Mona to be treated.
- She has to take medication, but refuses it and is not allowed to have it with apples because it contains too much sugar for her.
- Mia learns something is wrong with the tides in Centopia.
- On the beach, she discovers an old stone Pan flute with Pan runes with Yuko, Mo, Onchao and Phuddle.
- After being in the Elven Palace with King Raynor and Queen Mayla, they visit the Pane Village, as the Pan King may be able to decipher the runes on the flute.
- However, the village is deserted, but with the help of Onchao, they still find the Pans, who have gone to the Cave of a Thousand Tones because of the earthquakes.
- The Pan King can read the runes, but his translations are of no use.
- The pan queen falls into a crack in the earth and is threatened by a wild baby dragon.
- The sound of the stone pan flute causes it to fall asleep, allowing Yuko and Mo to free the queen.
- The dragon's mother wants to fight against the elves, but she also can be calmed down with the flute.
