A stray dog haunts an abandoned, dilapidated villa, much to the chagrin of auctioneer Lucas, who is tasked with selling the villa.
Mattis is the first person who discovers him. He calls the dog “Rabbit”.
When Carina and Mia go ghost hunting, Mattis lures Rabbit away. But Mia tracks down Mattis.
During a confrontation, Mattis demands that Mia won't tell Carina about it.
When Rabbit bites Pieter, the secret is revealed. Carina decides to keep him in the practice for the time being until a permanent home is found, but things go wrong: When Rabbit runs after a cat, he wreaks havoc in Carina's kitchen.
When Hektor comes to visit again with Linda, Carina sees the opportunity to talk him into getting Rabbit. Hektor hesitates at first, but then agrees. When Hektor is in a bind and Rabbit calls Mattis and Mia for help, his hatred of dogs also disappears.
After Mattis goes into hiding with Rabbit, Pieter gives up on moving to London and even allows Mattis to keep Rabbit.
